Byzantine Saints: Saint Sebastiana the Martyr, Disciple of Saint Paul the Apostle (16 September)

On September 16, the Church commemorates St. Sebastiana the Martyr, a faithful disciple of St. Paul the Apostle, who bravely endured trials and torture for her unwavering faith in Christ.
During the persecution of Christians under Emperor Domitian, St. Sebastiana was put on trial before Governor Georgios in Marianopolis. Despite severe torturesβbeing beaten, thrown into a fiery oven, lacerated with tiles, and even given to wild beastsβshe miraculously remained unharmed through the power of God.
Finally, in Heraclea, Governor Pompion ordered her to be beheaded. After her martyrdom, angels carried her holy body to the island of Rhoss in the Sea of Marmara, where she continues to be honored by the faithful.
β¨ This video recounts her inspiring story of courage, faith, and ultimate sacrifice for Christ.
