At traditional Latin Masses, it's completely normal to see a third of attendees remain in their pews during communion, a silent testimony to their understanding of receiving worthily. No one bats an eye or judges them—a stark contrast to Novus Ordo parishes where almost everyone receives while confession schedules shrink to 30 minutes weekly. This isn't about superiority but about a concentration effect: Latin Mass communities tend to attract Catholics who took their faith seriously within Novus Ordo parishes and sought something more reverent.

The frustration many traditional Catholics express isn't aimed at individuals in the pews but at a system that has failed to transmit the faith effectively. The irony is palpable when those quickest to label traditionalists as "uncharitable" are often the same voices calling for Latin Mass restrictions or excommunications—seeking to deny fellow Catholics the Eucharist while claiming moral high ground.
