Matthew 8: 31 - 42

When I had lost everything and was in prison, I thought to prepare myself a "vademecum," a small collection of Scripture verses that would enable me to live the Word of God even in that situation. I had neither paper nor notebook. But the police supplied me with some sheets of paper that I was supposed to use to respond to all their questions. So, little by little, I began to set aside some pieces of paper, and I managed to make a tiny notebook. Day by day, I was able to write in Latin the more than 300 sentences of Sacred Scripture that I recalled from memory. The Word of God, thus reconstructed, was my daily vademecum, my precious jewel-case from which I drew strength and nourishment.

1. intellectual assent (believing the word), ALL these things DID happen - and somehow ARE happening again now
2. affection (loving it), really ACCOMPANY Jesus this week in SS
3. put it into practice (living it out).
