Today, November 6th, we commemorate Venerable Luke of Sicily, a holy ascetic who left behind the world for a life of prayer and fasting in the wilderness of Mount Etna. Born in the city of Torium, Sicily, St. Luke dedicated his life to God, forsaking worldly attachments and founding a monastery through divine revelation. His spiritual journey took him across many cities, where he learned the rules of monastic life. He reposed in the Lord at Corinth around the year 820.
